The southern and southeastern masses were strategically scooped out to create deep-set balconies, visually anchoring the minimalist white walls. These balconies were further defined by the use of steatite cladding and teak wood louver shutters, enhancing both the visual appeal and functional shading. These elements added to the sense of horizontality and openness, especially in the veranda area.
The house’s spatial organization was guided by Vaastu principles, with the entrance placed in the northeastern corner of the site. This resulted in a 10-foot-wide landscaped strip along the eastern side, filled with tropical plants to create a serene entryway. The interior was designed with a series of double-height public spaces flanking a central corridor, creating an interplay of volume and light.
A striking feature of the bungalow is the expansive veneer-clad false ceiling at the first-floor level, which unifies the public spaces, giving the interiors a sense of warmth and coherence.
