The evolving trends in restaurant design reflect a shift towards simplicity and natural aesthetics. One prominent trend is moving away from the traditional use of gypsum or POP (plaster of Paris) false ceilings. Instead, designers now embrace exposed electrical conduits on the ceiling, leaving them visible while keeping those on the walls concealed. This approach not only provides practical benefits, such as easier maintenance and protection from impact, moisture, and chemical vapours, but also adds a modern industrial touch to the design. The ease of frequent wiring modifications also makes this method ideal for dynamic spaces like restaurants, where alterations are common.

The focus has now shifted from ceiling design to other aspects of the interiors, allowing for more fluidity and natural integration of elements. A key trend is incorporating green accents throughout the restaurant, creating a refreshing and calming atmosphere. Natural elements like indoor plants, ferns, and earthy tones offer a sense of comfort and freshness, counterbalancing the hectic pace of modern life. This approach steers away from rigid conceptual designs, unless dictated by the brand’s identity, embracing instead a more organic, nature-inspired aesthetic that enhances the overall dining experience.
