The clients emphasized their desire for the structure to harmonize with its natural surroundings, ensuring that every view in every direction was maximized. Consequently, the resulting structure features a façade that is predominantly glass, with the exception of the bathrooms and kitchen. The material palette includes black stone for the flooring, and sandstone and concrete for the walls, chosen for their ability to age naturally over time. Already, the house has begun to blend into its environment, with darker concrete and sandstone, and moss gathering on some exterior sections. This natural aging process was anticipated from the beginning, as the architects intended for the house to integrate seamlessly with its surroundings without imposing on the site.

To further this goal, the architects maintained the building’s height at approximately 12 feet, ensuring it would not dominate the landscape but rather blend into the surrounding foliage. The rectangular structure is elevated off the ground, with about six feet cantilevering off the foundation on either side, creating a floating appearance. Initially, the clients were unsure about this design choice, but they now regard it as a brilliant decision as it helps keep insects out.

A significant design feature is the six- to eight-foot overhang around the structure’s edge, which prevents overheating from direct sunlight. The insulated roof, consisting of two concrete slabs connected by a grid of beams filled with thermocol, effectively controls temperature.

An outdoor area featuring an infinity pool separates the indoor living room from the main bedroom. All the furniture in this space is sourced from Advent International, and is arranged to function as an outdoor living room. According to León, the architect, this is likely where the clients spend most of their time, given the property’s extensive views and comfortable micro-climate. The design approach ensures that the house is not an imposing presence but rather a harmonious part of the landscape.
